Matron of Honor
Dagnie and Sam met their Sophomore year when Sam transferred to OES, and they have been best friends ever since. They have survived high school, college, and even a stint living together in a tiny dorm as suite-mates (without killing each other!). In that time they have developed a nausea-inducing number of inside jokes (including a large number of quotes that came from a single Eddie Izzard special -- Goodbye, I love you! Hhhhh). There is no one else Dagnie could have imagined asking to be by her side as her MOH (well, except MJ... see below).
Best Man
A tale as old as time, our ex-girlfriends were best friends whose now ex-boyfriends… are us! Don’t let this serendipitous start to a friendship fool you. It soon became stronger than the Dwarven axes of Moria, higher than clouds of Tatooine, and bottomless like the times we will watch Superbad in our lifetime. Despite Cory being unquestionably a foot shorter and a lengthy three months younger than Beau, it is Beau who looks up to Cory. All jokes aside, Cory is one of the smartest and wisest people I know. He is sought for council, resolve, and support. Some of my favorite memories with Cory are late night talks about life in our college bunk bed, Sunriver with his family, and civil-war Madden matches. For these reasons and many more, he is one of my best friends and one of my best men.
Matron of Honor
Dagnie also met MJ in high school during their freshman year at OES. From long nights being scared to death after watching horror movies in her ancient (read: haunted) house, faking their way through weightlifting class, to skype sessions while MJ manned the library front desk in college, this pair has been a constant in each other's lives and the closest of friends, no matter the distance between them. MJ has been an incredible support for Dagnie and has been more like a sister over the years. While Sam and MJ were not as close in high school, they reconnected over their mutual love of Dagnie since college and the trifecta of MJ, Sam, and Dagnie has been going strong ever since. It only made sense to have both Sam and MJ standing side by side as MOHs on Dagnie's wedding day.
Best Man
Like friendly Conquistadors, Seth and Beau are trailblazers in endless pursuit of historic adventures, mythic bars, and epic stories to tell friends. Their wanderlust journeys have even been rumored by some to be the envy of travel titan organization: Frommer’s (i.e. Reykjavik, Stockholm, Prague, Troutdale). This thick as thieves duo - self-described - first casually nodded heads with one another in the misty mazed hallways of Evergreen Middle School. Unbeknownst to Seth, he holds the Guinness Book of World Records for funniest man alive AND most likely friend you will lose track of time with. Some of my favorite memories with Setho are ugly Christmas sweater parties, DMX in Chicago, and U of O tailgates. For these reasons and many more, he is one of my best friends and one of my best men.
Bridesmaid
Liz was the first friend Dagnie made as a brand new Freshman coming to OES. Liz took her under her wing and was the social butterfly that brought Dagnie's introverted self out of her shell (read: the only reason Dagnie had any other friends). From cookie baking and late night Blockbuster video runs, long drives blasting music from the East Side, to the more recent SoCal trips, Liz has remained a rock in Dagnie's life for going on 18 years and she couldn't imaging celebrating her big day without Liz by her side.
Groomsman
The man, the myth, the legend…Jordan Scott. Jordan and Beau first made each others acquaintances at the prestigious academy of “Liberty High School for the Gifted and Talented” circa junior year. They quickly developed a knack for projects and presentations allowing for their creative prowess and limiting any time spent furthering their skills on time intensive translatable skills, like writing and studying. Their friendship was further bolstered by their good friend Seth (See: Seth) which led to countless laughs and memories. Some of my favorite memories with Jordan were classes with Mrs. Danskey, spending time with him and his beautiful wife Anni in sunny Arizona, and Eagle Crest excursions.
Bridesmaid
Next up: the Medical School best friends! Sarah and Dagnie met their first year at OHSU and became fast friends. Sarah and Dagnie lived together, studied together, and survived co-parenting a high energy labradoodle (see photo) and somehow managed to come out stronger on the other side (any of those three things could make or break a friendship, and fast). Sarah was one of the first people to meet and vet Beau and was an important part of their early years together, so it only makes sense for her to be there on their big day as well!
Groomsman
David Attenborough V.O. Gus was first discovered by Beau in a hobbit hole of a dorm room a mere stone’s throw from Cory and Beau’s lofty penthouse accommodations. A once timid and docile creature, Gus soon became the boisterous comedic alpha his friends have come to know and love. Driven by a relentless drive to be genuine and loyal to those he meets, Gus is considered by many (i.e. Beau) to be the fiercest of friends in the animal kingdom. Some of Beau’s favorite memories of the fabled beast are the legendary “Guys Night Out” which later transcended to “Guys Trip,” downtown Spokane excursions, and beers with Cory and Co. at “The Spot.”
Bridesman
The other med school best friend: Derek. Derek and Dagnie met during their first year at OHSU and quickly developed a bond based on their mutual enjoyment of fantasy football smack talk. This bond was further strengthened by their shared coping mechanisms of sass and sarcasm, the same twisted sense of humor, and far too much caffeine. There are no flattering photos of Dagnie and Derek together, not because they aren't important to each other, but because their friendship is not conducive to nice photos. Instead, please enjoy this photo from the terrible room where their lifelong bond was formed in the depths of the OHSU library study rooms.
Groomsman
Possibly Beau’s longest friendship on the list is with the one and only Dono. Donovan and Beau met freshman year of high school and unbeknownst to them at the time, were neighbors! Many of the duos early conversations could be traced back to Beau’s constant lamenting of girl problems that Donovan begrudgingly, yet perilously, navigated Beau through. Some of my favorite memories with Donovan are high school leadership, working at Hollister the summer before college, visiting him in his native lands of Las Vegas, and him surprising me on graduation from both graduate programs.
Bridesmaid
Last but not least: Veronica, the residency best friend. Veronica and Dagnie met when Veronica interviewed her for a position at the University of Arizona OBGYN program. Little did Dagnie know that at that moment she would be finding herself a new lifelong friend. In just two short years (that somehow have felt like forever... thanks, residency), Veronica has become one of Dagnie's go-to people and closest confidants. From emergency surgery to falling asleep watching Halloween specials in the call room, Veronica has been a constant support for Dagnie and has more than earned a spot next to her on the big day.

A premiere virologist, expert mechanic, tech wizard, and beer aficionado there is little that “Beau knows” that Richard (a.k.a. Joey) does not. Another friendship forged in the fires of Liberty High School, Joey has remained a steadfast friend and confidant. Legend has it that it was Joey who introduced Beau’s love of sushi, bubble tea, and dried cuttlefish. Most recently, Joey has further pushed Beau’s palate into “Le Ocean” staples (i.e. chicken hearts and Cow Bile). Some of my favorite memories with Joey are adventuring through the unknown parts of Portland finding secret hidden bars, underwater bathrooms, and dirt cheap happy hours.
Officiant
Not to be confused with Seth (See: Seth), Kaveen and his beautiful wife Brittany have become good friends of Dagnie and Beau. Kaveen, a cavity conquering dentist by day and soft spoken erudite by night, was coincidentally both Dagnie and Beau's first choice for an officiant before ever speaking to one another. Kaveen has graciously and humbly accepted the responsibilities of officiant and will be shepherding another Lamb into the family.
