One of the first places Dafnis went to when she moved to Omaha and one of her all-time favorite places to go. You can view their current exhibit on their website.
Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium
One of Daf & Jake's favorite places for a summer date night. They have gone there MULTIPLE times. At least 3 or 4 times a year. A great visit any time, but especially in the summer. Come back to visit us over the summer and see what we mean!
Omaha Children's Museum
The Omaha Children's Museum is a nonprofit learning and exploration space for young people located at 500 South 20th Street in downtown Omaha, Nebraska. The museum has received a national award from the Association of Science and Technology Museums.
Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum
This place holds a very special place in the hearts of Daf & Jake. This museum has an incredible display of airplanes and WWII history about Omaha. It's 30 minutes from Omaha, but worth every minute! You can view their current display on their website.
Midtown / Blackstone District
Daf's home for the last 3 years, this neighborhood offers a great variety of great foods, a good atmosphere, and good drinks. Stop by Daf's favorite bar, Scriptown, for a great variety of Omaha-made brews and their neighbors the Momo Station, or Nite Owl for some great burgers. Looking for something lowkey? Try Corkscrew Wine & Cheese! Looking for something more family-friendly? Meatball, Ika Ramen & Izakaya, Get Real Sandwiches, and Nolis Pizza always have great food! For AMAZING coffee, go to Bad Seed Coffee! For great drinks and classy atmosphere visit the Cottonwood Hotel & Chophouse Crescent Moon / Huber House offers a homey atmosphere with amazing drinks and mind-blowing food. *Parking is hard in Blackstone, so arrive early or Uber/Lyft for a better experience.
Downtown
At this point, we have given you so many things to do and look at that your weekend is probably booked out! If you're wanting something that is near your hotel and walkable, Downtown Omaha is a staple and not hard to access. This part of town offers great options to support local and enjoy some good food and atmosphere. - Made in Omaha - Blue Sushi - M's Pub - Upstream - Scooters (A regional coffee shop started in Omaha) - Millwork Commons (you can find Kros Strain, home of Jake's favorite beer, Fairy Nectar IPA) - More! *It's hard to find parking, so Uber/Lyft or walking might be best!
