Over 60 years ago, Hannahs grandparents met on top of Vernal falls in Yosemite. Their love story has always been her inspiration. For her 25th birthday, Hannahs wish was to return to Yosemite with Matt and their dog, Bailey, to feel a close spiritual connection to her late grandfather. Her one and only birthday wish was to receive a sign from Grandpa Paul, and to feel his presence during her birthday weekend. And boy oh boy, did Paul deliver. The entire weekend was filled with signs from him; a Great Grey Owl joined Hannah and Matt for coffee on their first morning of the trip, butterflies surrounded them, and following the proposal a rainbow shone brightly over the falls for Hannah’s first picture with her engagement ring. The proposal might not have gone perfectly to Matt’s plan; they were supposed to hike the mist trail on May 11th (Hannah’s birthday), but the outcome was as beautiful as anyone could have hoped for. In the same setting where her grandparents love story began so many years ago, now Vernal Falls is the setting of the beginning of Matt and Hannah’s forever. The backdrop to the start of a lifetime of love, security, joy, and commitment.
