We're getting married!

Mackenzie and Joshua attended the same elementary, middle, and high school all while living on the same street. Even though they always knew of each other, they didn't become close until their senior year of high school. It was the season of college decisions, prom, high school graduation, saying good-bye, and moving away from home. During this time of transition, Mackenzie decided to take a chance and let Joshua know how she felt, and after a while, the feeling was reciprocated. They realized very quickly that this was something special, but it was not going to be easy since Mackenzie and Joshua were moving to different cities, six hours away from each other...

Our first year together was spent apart, but this did not deter the growth of our relationship. Most of our nights were filled with phone calls, simultaneously watching movies and tv shows, playing games online, and going through devotionals. We also took many trips to Tennessee, Florida, and Georgia to spend time with each other, but we knew if we wanted to keep growing we needed to be in the same city. Mackenzie transferred to FSU after that first year, which allowed for our relationship to deepen and mature. Since then, we have learned how to be a good partner to one another and how to sustain a healthy relationship, while also discovering new hobbies and pastimes that we enjoy together. Some of these include, playing boardgames, serving in our church, singing in choirs at FSU, hiking and traveling, going to concerts, and spending time with our families. We have bonded over these throughout the years and are excited to continue to grow and make more memories as a married couple.
