We met as most busy professionals in our generation do: online (thanks, Bumble). A series of photographs and some well written descriptions about our lives sparked some mutual interest in each other and we matched. The banter was irresistible and indisputable! We both tried to temper our expectations, because in this day and age of dating, cynicism can run rampant. How can it be possible that two people so perfect for one another, with similar views on life and family, similar hobbies and interests, similar career goals and trajectories, actually manage to find each other in a large city? Dan was slated to go on a trip in the coming week and Billie had plans to meet with her parents for dinner as they passed through Philly, but we simply HAD to meet. The plan was for a quick drink before Billie had to go to dinner, but a serendipitous dip in her parent’s energy led to a cancellation of dinner, which for Billie’s parents is a RARE occurrence. Dan immediately pounced on the opportunity and their brief date turned into a beautiful night that lasted hours. Billie even got Dan to eat sushi that night, which is somewhat shocking given his relationship with fish is, well, complicated. That jubilant evening, however, was just the start of an exciting new courtship. Love was in the air that summer as this enchanting pair tried new restaurants, went to concerts, had picnics in the park, and perfected the art of the weekend trip. We were both living fully functional lives complete with friends, family, and successful careers. But it wasn’t until we met and fell in love that we would come to realize what was missing: finding our forever. We are both so fortunate and humbled that we found each other, and can’t wait to start building our lives together. Our love for the beach, the sunshine, and the palm trees led us to the Florida Keys for our wedding. We can’t wait to experience this magical weekend with everyone, thanks so much for being a part of it!
