How We Met

Alabama Football led me to my soul mate

My sister and I loved to watch the Alabama Football Games at Mug Shots Bar and Grill. This particular game day we were seated at a high top close to the bar behind some guys. We noticed them glancing at us as we were being seated, but we didn't really pay that much attention to it. We quickly learned that they were Alabama fans too and every touch down they gave us a high five. At some point in the game my sister got up and proceeded to walk to the restroom and was stopped by a guy. As she was conversing with him I was deep into my phone. I then heard someone talking in my direction. I looked up and saw one of the guys at the table in front of us looking at me. I said "excuse me I didn't hear you." He then walked over and sat by me at my table and told me to "stop being anti social." By then I realized my sister had already told them her name and I looked like the lonely girl sitting off to her self playing with her phone. Wasn't the case at all. I really didn't want to be bothered, but there was something about his smile and his eyes were gorgeous. So I entertained him for a while in conversation. He asked me my name and wanted to know where was I from. I told him my name and that I was from Eufaula, and he told me his first lie. He said that he knew I looked familiar and that he'd seen me before when he came to Eufaula to spray because he worked for Terminix. I thought that was hilarious because I could immediately tell he was lying. He continued to make me laugh and he told me how gorgeous I was. I thought he was very funny, charming, and handsome. He eventually asked for my number and I slowly convinced myself to take his instead. I knew I would probably never call. However, before he left he came back and said I gave you my number, but you never texted my phone. I laughed because we all know that's what I'm known for. I texted him my number and he called me that same night and every night after. Several phone calls and texts later we began dating.

The Proposal

His Birthday My Engagement

I decided to take him to Vegas for his 31st Birthday because we didn't go for his 30th due to me getting pregnant. The night of his Birthday while in Vegas we decided to go to the Jeezy Concert. Of course he finished getting dressed before I did and went downstairs to play the tables while I spent and hour trying to decide what I was going to wear. We originally agreed that I would wear a particular outfit to coordinate with his for dinner, but he messed that up when he wore it the night we went to see Jeezy. Problem with that was the outfit I brought to coordinate with required stilettos of which I didn't want to wear that night because we were walking far. We left and I had the biggest attitude because I had to walk in heels that he was now making smart comments about. I was very quiet because I was aggravated by now and he began trying to make small talk like he always does when I'm mad. We agreed to take pictures earlier that day in front of this beautiful waterfall so we were rushing to get there and take pictures before the concert. Once we arrive at the waterfall a couple walks up and volunteers to take a picture of us together. He gave the lady his camera to take the picture. He then takes my wallet and phone and hands it to her husband. I was hesitant because we were in Vegas and for all I knew they were going to run off with our belongings. He then steps back to me and starts talking. I was acting standoffish. I asked him to speak up because I couldn't hear. He then tells me that he loved spending his birthday with me and he wanted to spend all the rest of his birthdays with me and proceeded to get down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. By then I was in total shock and I stood there with my hand over my mouth saying nothing. He asks so will you marry me? I finally snapped out of my shocked state and happily said yes. I felt bad then because he was rushing me to the perfect setup to ask me to be his wife. He made me the happiest woman that night.
