Candace and McKinley met in 2016 at McKinley’s 30th birthday party. Candace received an invitation by a mutual friend, so she and her best friend showed up. Candace and McKinley exchanged sweet pleasantries and even a birthday shot. McKinley was not single at the time, so McKinley and Candace parted ways to be later reunited when Candace had a New Year’s Eve party at her house. Candace and McKinley hit it off as if it were the first time they met. At this time, McKinley was single and was living up the street at his best friend William’s house. McKinley and Candace were on and off with dating. McKinley would say that Candace was chasing him, but he was not ready yet to settle down. Time and life changes allowed them to be separated for some time, but they always kept in touch and remained friends. Fast forward to 2021, Candace and McKinley were inseparable; they enjoyed concerts, traveling, and sports events. Things were looking so good until Candace’s life changed, and she moved to Texas, leaving McKinley back in Cali. Eventually, McKinley moved to Atlanta, and here we are: Candace and McKinley have found their way back to each other. At this point, this is not a coincidence. These two clearly have something special going on at this point. They reconnected again and began dating long distance. McKinley did not want to do long distance anymore, and Candace was contemplating pursuing her PhD or losing out on an opportunity of being with McKinley. McKinley encouraged Candace to apply to school (which she did get into) because eventually, McKinley took a leap of faith and moved to Bryan, Texas!!!! Feb 13, 2025, McKinley proposed in the most sweetest way in their bedroom with rose petals that spelled out ”Marry Me.” Of course, Candace said yes, but she asked McKinley, “Did you ask my daddy first?” and McKinley said yes, and he gave us his blessing. This is not the beginning for us; just another chapter to add to our love and life story. #AndersonasOne
