Danielle and Jake first crossed paths in June 2014 at a night out in DC planned by mutual friends. The two clicked instantly. After a friendly bet, which Danielle lost, and a late night on a rooftop overlooking the city, numbers were exchanged, and a first date took place a few days later. A Maryland girl and Virginia boy should have been like cats and dogs, but bonding over their love for laughter, 90s pop music, warm Spring days and cold Bud Lights, the two were head over heels for one another from the outset. Over the next five years, their lives perfectly intertwined. His friends became her friends, and her friends his. Her passions became his passions, and his, hers. She tolerated his love for electronic music, and he even sometimes crossed the Potomac river for date nights. Between trips to California, Boston, Nationals Park, Florida, New York and Nationals Park again a few more times, they fell in love, bought a home, and the rest was only a matter of time…

Fast forward to the summer of 2019, Jake and Danielle went on a double date in the Navy Yard. After sharing bourbon cocktails and a healthy number of hush puppies, they began a stroll to a nearby Beer Garden Along the Anacostia Riverwalk, in the waning moments of the sunset, Jake pulled Danielle aside and popped the question, albeit forgetting the speech he’d planned. Danielle, in complete shock, screamed in excitement. And may have forgotten to say “yes”. After the moment finally sank in, the surprises continued, as several of their friends had gathered at the beer garden, unbeknownst to Danielle, to celebrate the newly engaged couple.

Almost two, scratch that, three years, one pandemic, and a World Series Title later, Danielle and Jake will officially wed on May 22, 2022 at Raspberry Plain Manor in Leesburg, VA, surrounded by family and friends.
