City Museum is a truly one-of-a-kind place that is beloved by all in St. Louis. Fun for kids and adults alike, expect to spend a few hours here exploring. Don't miss the brand new Artquarium! "Housed in the 10-story, 600,000 square-foot warehouse of the International Shoe Company, City Museum is a mixture of children’s playground, funhouse, surrealistic pavilion, and architectural marvel made out of found and repurposed objects."
Established in 1779, the Soulard Farmer's Market is one of the oldest open air markets in the country. We recommend going on Saturday morning and checking out some of our favorite local goodies: the baked goods at the Yoder's Bakery stand, the chicken kabobs at the Viet Express stand, and the bloody mary's at Julia's Market Cafe.
All of the museums in Forest Park completely free to visit and have great attractions for kids and adults alike. Visit the brand new Nature Playscape or Zoo for some outdoor fun, or check out the Science Center, Art Museum, or History Museum to cool off indoors.
We love our local restaurants! Here's a few of our favorites in the area: Rooster South Grand - crepes, scrambles, and other from-scratch brunch goodies. https://www.roosterstl.com/ Grassi's - located right near our recommended hotel. Delicious cafeteria-style Italian food -- perfect for a quick bite. https://www.grassisstlouis.com/ Blackthorn Pizza - the best deep dish pizza in St. Louis, possibly the world. https://www.blackthornstl.com/ Ted Drewe's - a St. Louis staple for frozen custard. Be sure to go to the Chippewa location. http://teddrewes.com/ The Blue Duck - walkable from our house, this spot has excellent sandwiches, burgers, and drinks. Save room for a waffle ice cream sandwich from nearby Boardwalk Waffles afterwards! https://www.blueduckstl.com/ https://www.boardwalkwaffles.com/
