Any recommendations on flights?

Answer

6/6- The group travel rate will not be feasible, due to airline requirements for all guests to travel together. We have booked our flights on Egypt Air Oct 29th-November 14th. Outdated: The flight costs vary, as any international flight. We are trying to secure a discounted rate with Emirates, but recommend booking the itinerary that best fits your needs and schedule.

Answer

Cairo International Airport (CAI). All events will be considerably close to this airport.

What hotel should I stay at?

Answer

We've added several recommendations on the "Hotel Recommendations" page. We've provided a few different hotel options, at different price points for all, but recommend you choose a hotel that best fits your budget and itinerary.

What travel documents do I need?

Answer

Your passport that expires no sooner than 6 months from your return date, and an Egyptian Visa which can be purchased upon arrival at the airport. Cost is $30 USD.

Do I need any vaccines?

Answer

There are no vaccination requirements, unless you are arriving from a yellow-fever infected area.

Is Egypt safe?

Answer

Egypt is currently a "Level 2" on the on the US Travel Advisory list. Level 2: Exercise increased caution - Contains Areas with Higher Security Risk. For reference, other level 2 countries include, but are not limited to: Philippines, Spain, the Bahamas, and Thailand. Are there any local customs or etiquette we should know about?

Please be mindful of the country's primarily Muslim population, modest attire-- especially when visiting religious sites. Tipping is customary.

The Egyptian Pound. Some places will accept credit card, but please plan to have EGY cash as many locals still operate on cash.

Is there any information you can share about the wedding day?

Answer

- The day before and night of, we will be staying at the Waldorf Astoria. - The wedding ceremony will take place in Sheraton (the city), New Cairo. - The reception will be approximately 1 hour away. Transportation will be provided both to and from Sheraton. We will be providing snacks and refreshments for transportation. - The reception will be outdoors.

What if I don't feel comfortable traveling around Egypt alone?

We will be posting our itinerary once finalized. It is an open invite to join us for part or all of the days remaining. Our dates of travel are Oct 29 to Nov 14.
