Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Cynthia Aguilar and Richie Rico
Las Cruces is a laid-back town, but there are a few great spots worth checking out if you have some time while you’re visiting.
White Sands National Park

White Sands National Park

NM

If you have some extra time, White Sands National Park is definitely worth a visit. It’s one of the most unique spots in the area. A lot of people bring sleds to slide down the dunes (kids especially love this), and it’s also a great place to just hang out, walk around, and enjoy the scenery. Some families bring snacks or even water balloons to cool off and have fun. There is an entrance fee to the park, so plan for it ahead of time. We also recommend bringing water, sunscreen, and comfortable shoes since it can get pretty hot.

Rio Grande Winery

5321 New Mexico 28, Las Cruces, NM 88005

A great spot to relax, have some good local wine, and enjoy the views. It’s laid-back and offers a really nice view of the Organ Mountains, especially around sunset. Perfect if you want something easy and chill to do while you’re in town.

Mesilla

Mesilla

Mesilla, NM

Right next to Las Cruces, Mesilla is a small historic town with a really nice area to walk around. There are local shops, restaurants, and a plaza all within walking distance. It’s a great spot to just stroll, grab a bite, and check things out.

Grounded

300 North Main Street, Las Cruces, NM 88001

A really cool spot in downtown Las Cruces for coffee, food, or just hanging out. They have great coffee, wood-fired pizza, and even wine, so it works any time of day. It’s a family-owned place with a good vibe and a nice area to walk around nearby.

1720 Avenida de Mesilla, Las Cruces, NM 88005

Another great spot for good wine and a nice dinner. It’s a more upscale, sit-down vibe with really good food and a big selection of local New Mexico wines. They also have a patio and live music on some nights, so it’s a good place to relax and enjoy the evening.

Hiking

Hiking

If you love hiking as we do, Las Cruces is a great spot. More of desert trails, but still carry great views! If you use the All Trails app, you'll find plenty of options, and we are more than happy to recommend some trails that are our personal favorites!
