Her version: While doing some "research" for work, I swiped right on a self-described "nerd" on Bumble. I was captivated by his sense of humor and wit, but after I gave a 5 minute speech on dog superiority during our first date, I was dismayed to learn he had a cat. Thankfully, I gave him a second chance, because he fathers that cat with such a deep kindness and affection that made me fall in love with him. It was easy to tell he had the biggest heart of any man I've ever met, and I knew I had found the one. Today, I even love the cat too. His version: Luke catfished Cynthia in September 2023 on Bumble, enticing her with his nerdy-ness of amateur radio. Despite her professed hate of cats, they went on series of dates including apple picking. Together they learned that neither was good at apple picking but could bake a mean apple pie cheesecake together. They truly bonded when Luke brought Cynthia to his work holiday party, which was a covert super spreader event. They grew closer over the holidays and Cynthia most importantly grew to love Widget.
