Sometimes, God’s plans unfold in the most unexpected and beautiful ways, but never by mistake. Looking back, we can see how each chapter of our lives was preparing our hearts for this very moment. It still amazes us that we crossed paths long before we truly met. We were stationed at Dyess Air Force Base in the same squadron, had the same job, and shared mutual friends in the Air Force. We even worked for the same non-profit agency in Harlingen, yet somehow, our paths never aligned. It wasn’t until 13 years later, in 2022, when we both applied for the same position at TSTC, that our story truly began. Even then, life guided us to exactly where we needed to be at the right time, in the right place, and when we were both ready for the journey ahead. David took time off to care for his mom during her final months in late 2022, and it was this selfless sacrifice that shaped him into the friend I would later need. When I found myself leaning on his quiet strength through the loss of my own father in March 2025, the bond we shared through our grief became the foundation of a love deeper than either of us could have imagined. It’s humbling to think that had we met earlier, we might not have been ready for the kind of love, patience, and faith we now share. But God’s timing is always perfect! From the beginning, our connection has felt steady, peaceful, and full of grace. Love has shown up not just in the big moments, but also in the laughter after long days, the quiet prayers, and the simple reminders that we are stronger together than apart. We know our parents, especially his and my dad, are smiling down from Heaven, beaming with pride as we build our life together.
