The fastest yes I’ve ever said…
#THECYNCALUNION25# In early February, I received a message on Facebook from him that instantly caught my attention. It said, “God don butter my bread,” a phrase in Nigerian Pidgin. I couldn’t help but smile—he’s white, so I wondered how he knew a local Nigerian expression! That one message sparked a conversation, and from there, everything changed. We were 213.6 kilometers apart, but the distance didn’t matter. We FaceTimed every day, sharing countless moments, and sometimes even falling asleep on the phone together. Our connection grew stronger with every call. Then, on February 24th, he made the trip to Middlesbrough to see me for the first time. That day was unforgettable. We had so much fun—grabbing food, playing games, and just soaking in each other’s presence. Saying goodbye at the end of the day was hard, but as he watched me wave him off, he knew in his heart: “I’m coming back for her.” And he did. On his second visit, we made things official. From then on, we kept traveling back and forth to see each other, each visit strengthening our bond. Our love grew so deeply that we knew we couldn’t stay apart any longer. On July 22nd, we took the next step. We gave notice of our marriage and booked our wedding date. But before i forget, he proposed—officially asking me to spend the rest of my life with him. Now, we’re counting down to forever, and we can’t wait to share our special day with all of you. TOAST!!!! NEVER ABOVE YOU. NEVER BELOW YOU. ALWAYS BESIDE YOU.
