No, all you need is your American passport & my family traveling in from Mexico all you would need is your Mexican passport.

Currency in İstanbul, Türkiye is the Turkish lira but the USD for exchange is encouraged. Other forms of payments like Visa & MasterCard are accepted in Hotels, restaurants, & larger shops. I would suggest contacting your bank for international use of Credit cards etc.

The best way to get around Istanbul would be by car, bus, & metro as these are the fastest and inexpensive forms of transportation. It's suggested to avoid Taxis & Uber as those options tend to be expensive especially to tourist.

In October, Istanbul experiences pleasantly mild and comfortable autumn weather, with daytime highs averaging 20°C to 23°C and cooler nights dropping to 12°C to 15°C. While the city sees occasional short showers and averages about 10 rainy days for the month.

Yes, it is recommended to bring some light jackets or sweaters & rain jackets. Also shawls are recommended for wedding festivities as weather might require them.

A part from your fancy choice of shoes for wedding festivities it is highly recommended to bring comfortable walking shoes when sight seeing the beautiful city as Istanbul is very much a lot of walking.

It is highly recommended that you arrive 2-3 days before the festivities which begin Oct 1st. This will give you time to adjust to the time difference & get rid of jet lag.

The Henna Night and the wedding reception will both be held indoors. If the weather permits, our cocktail hour will be held outdoors with a beautiful view overlooking the ocean.

Yes! Since our wedding is taking place in Istanbul, the festivities will be rich with beautiful Turkish traditions.
