How we Met

It was a friend at church who first nudged my gaze toward her in 2024. But I shrugged it off. Back then, I kept my words few and my circle even smaller. I was quiet, folded into myself, Later that year, at the encounter retreat in London, Ontario, we had the opportunity of sitting side by side for the entire program. We did not speak much our hearts were turned to prayer, but it was her tenderness that caught my eye. The way she cared for her brother Revealed a love so pure, so gentle, and it was refreshing. After the retreat, something subtle began. Every Sunday, she’d quietly find her place behind me. We’d share a playful high-five, A small spark that became the highlight of my week. That simple touch grew into a silent language. And soon, I found myself waiting for it, longing for it. It took a nudge divine or human, I was still not sure, but I finally asked for her number. From the first message, it felt like we had been speaking for years. Comfort, laughter, grace all came rushing in like we had just remembered who we were to each other. That tiny spark lit by one high-five Has become a wildfire that cannot be tamed We do not try to stop it. We just let it burn.
