Question

Are you postponing your wedding due to COVID-19?

Answer

Yes. We decided to move our wedding from October 3, 2020 to October 9, 2021. We want our guests to feel safe and comfortable traveling and hope this lends some time for the virus to die down. We look forward to celebrating with you in 2021!

Question

Are there alcohol restrictions in Utah?

Answer

Yes, Utah restricts the ABV of beer. Draft beer cannot be higher than 3.5%; however, bottled beer has no restrictions in bars or restaurants. Utah's "membership" laws ended a decade ago, so you do not need a "sponsor" to get your drink on, but be sure to bring your ID as any establishment that is designated as a bar requires a valid photo ID upon entry and you must be 21 to enter. You should not attempt to drink and drive under any circumstance. Utah has the nation's lowest blood alcohol content (BAC) standard at 0.05%, almost half of all other states.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

As with anywhere, the weather can be unpredictable; however, early October is usually pleasant with temperatures in the 60s or 70s during the day. Evening temperatures will drop to the 50s or 40s. Check before you travel, as a cold front could roll in, and don't be surprised if you see snow capped peaks when you arrive, as snow in the mountains is not uncommon as early as September. Bring some warm clothing options and a coat with you just in case.

Question

Is Utah at high altitude?

Answer

Yes. Salt Lake City is over 4,000 feet above sea level and our venue, Log Haven, sits at 6,000 feet. For reference, most of New Jersey resides at or less than 500 feet above sea level. If you plan to travel outside of Salt Lake City and further into the mountains, the elevation will quickly continue to rise. To help combat any effects of altitude sickness, stay hydrated and rest.

Question

How do we get around?

Answer

Uber and Lyft cars are readily available. Salt Lake City has been affectionately nicknamed "Small Lake City" - you can get almost anywhere within the city and its outlying suburbs in 20-30 minutes and the downtown area is very walkable. If you are interested in public transportation, TRAX is Salt Lake City's light rail system and there are several bus lines. You also have the option to rent a car while at the airport. There is often free parking available throughout the city on side streets, as well as metered spaces and paid parking lots in the busier sections of downtown.

Question

Are kids and guests invited?

Answer

While we love your kids, our wedding is an adults-only event. We appreciate your understanding. Please reference your save the date and invitation for the invitees, including guests.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Formal, black tie optional. Suits with ties, dresses, and pantsuits are perfect.

Question

Are there any colors you would prefer me not to wear?

Answer

No! Wear whatever color you feel best in and get ready to let loose!

Question

Is Cyndi taking Vinny's last name?

Answer

Yes! Fun fact: Vinny's last name, Taranto, is a coastal city in southern Italy.

Question

Can I take pictures and post on social media?

Answer

Of course! Snap some good ones and feel free to share and use our hashtag #ItTakes2toTaranto, but remember you likely will not have any service to connect to your apps while at the wedding. It's hit or miss up there in the canyon!

Question

I have more questions. Who should I contact?

Answer

Please contact Cyndi via text or phone call at 732-552-7967 or cmo5091@gmail.com with any questions. We will also continue updating the website and adding to the FAQs as we get closer to the wedding and continue solidifying details. Check back occasionally.
