We first met (again) in the summer of 2017, without realizing it would be the start of everything. What began as casual banter and shared laughs quickly turned into something more, and in true Cynthia fashion, it started with a 30-day trial. (Yes, Eduardo agreed… and yes, he passed.) From that point on, our love grew quietly and steadily. We spent nearly six years in a mid-distance relationship, balancing school, building our careers, and navigating a global pandemic. Even with miles between us, we never missed a day of talking. We kept showing up for each other...again and again and again. Once we finally closed the distance and moved in together, it didn’t take long. One quiet winter night, Eduardo was reading a book when he glanced over and saw Cynthia curled up next to him, scrolling on her iPad. In that ordinary moment, something clicked. He realized this was the life he wanted. The quiet, the comfort, the closeness. He knew she was the one. A few months and several secret plans later, on a Sunday morning in the Rose Garden at Balboa Park, Eduardo proposed. Cynthia’s first response was a “Nooooooooooooooooo!!!” because it was hard to believe this was really happening. But of course, the answer was yes. There were happy tears, laughter, and a moment that felt completely and perfectly us. Since then, we have been planning a day that feels like us: joyful, meaningful, and full of the people we love. We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter together. It’s happening (!!!) and we hope you’ll be there.
