FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by April 15 via the RSVP tab on this website.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The wedding attire is black tie optional. This means floor-length gowns and tuxedos are happily welcomed, but you can also opt for slightly less formal attire—dark colored suits and long dresses that are not quite floor length are great options. (This website doesn't let us upload photos to the FAQs so see https://rb.gy/aj03w9 for example attire photos!) When it comes to shoes, please keep in mind that the reception will be in the backyard at the Hong's family home, where there is grass and stone steps. Heels are fine, just be careful not to twist an ankle!

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Early June in the South Bay is usually pretty warm. We can't predict the future, but we're hoping it'll be mid-70s to low-80s and sunny during the day, and of course it'll cool off at night. Other than the dress code, your outfit is up to you—the only thing we recommend wearing is sunscreen!

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

Of course! If we've sent an invitation addressed to your family, that means there is space for all of you. We are very excited to see all our little cousins :)

Question

Why is the Uber voucher link not working?

Answer

The Uber voucher link will not work before the 3 pm-midnight window on June 7.

Question

What is the new itinerary now that the ceremony is in San Francisco?

Answer

11:30 am: Shuttles begin pick-ups from recommended hotels 12 pm: Begin drive from South Bay to San Francisco 1 pm: Arrive at St. Agnes Catholic Church 1:15 pm: Ceremony begins 2-2:30 pm: Photos inside/afternoon downtime while we can still be inside the church 2:30-3:15 pm: Photos outside/afternoon downtime in San Francisco! Suggested activities: 1) Stroll in Panhandle or Golden Gate Park, 2) Grab a coffee at Flywheel Coffee Roasters on Stanyan St. or Sacred Grounds on Hayes St., 3) Chill at Cydney and Johny's apartment at 1849 Page St. Apt. 201 3:15 pm: Load shuttles 3:30 pm: Drive to Cupertino 4:30 pm: Cocktail hour 6 pm: Dinner & party!

Question

Do I have to take the shuttle to the ceremony?

Answer

Nope! You can certainly drive your own car or otherwise find your own way to the ceremony. This options gives you a little more flexibility if you want to come up to the city early or skip the ~hour of downtime before we head back to Cupertino.

Question

When do I need to fill out the shuttle form?

Answer

May 3. Let us know if you need the shuttle via this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeMJfnOEGEQaNrZPiofrQFFlnz5jpiZSwJASW0hXdWQUBWYhg/viewform

Question

Where can I park at the ceremony?

Answer

If you are driving your own car to the ceremony, there is street parking in the area. Just be sure to follow the signs! We'd recommend looking on the side streets, not Haight Street. Haight can get pretty busy on weekends, so we recommend allowing for up to ~15 minutes to look for a spot.

Question

Where can I park at the reception?

Answer

There is street parking in the Hongs' neighborhood. As you drive in from Oak Valley Road, you can park on the right-hand side of the street. On Sycamore Drive, you can park on the same side of the street as the Hongs' house. Feel free to park on other streets in the neighborhood, just be sure to follow the street signs!
