In June of 2020 the world was in a crazy state of lockdown! It had prompted us to both approach dating online, because how else were we going to meet someone at that time?! 😂 After trying a few different dating sites, and going on a handful of not-a-match dates, we both ended up on Facebook Dating and matched! (Yes Facebook has a dating section to their app that many don't know about 😆💕) Cybele was living in Pleasant Hill, California and Maurice in Martinez, just a few miles away. They decided to meet at the Martinez Shoreline. Maurice arrived early and let Cybele know, which she appreciated because with online dating, well you never know what's going to happen! As Cybele walked up and saw Maurice, they both had huge smiles on their faces and hugged immediately (Maurice is an excellent hugger ☺️). Cybele always remembered how great that hug felt and she felt like maybe she had finally found the one. They proceeded to walk around the beautiful park, talking, wearing masks on and off, getting Thai food lunch to eat at the park, because at the time there was no eating inside. They shared their first kiss on that first date. Their hearts were filled up. And although it seemed fast, Cybele received calls and texts from Maurice later that night asking if she would be his woman, and she said Yes.🥰 And so their journey began resulting in dating, living together, moving to Florida, a long engagement, and here we are 6 years later, finally tying the knot!
