Excellent pastries, breakfast options, and lunch. It's great for sit down or take-away.
Our favorite coffee shop in Sitka! They have the best coffee and coziest vibes.
Our favorite restaurant for freshly caught and perfectly cooked fish.
Best pizza, perhaps ever.
An accessible mountain from downtown Sitka. Take the Cross Trail over to the trailhead and enjoy the views at the top!
A more strenuous hike, also accessible from downtown with just a short walk along Sawmill Creek Road to the trailhead. The blueberries should just be starting to pop at Picnic Rock.
Excellent, long hike through the old growth forest, along Kaas Da Heen river. Go as far as you want, or go all five miles to the end to enjoy a waterfall!
In our humble opinion, Beaver Lake is the best hike in all of Sitka. It's got everything!
HPR Rec is an wonderful little park that packs a punch. Come here to go tide pooling at Magic Island, frolic around the beach, watch the sunset, make a little campfire, and, if you're feeling adventurous, to swim in the ocean. It's an excellent place to bring kids.
Check out this website for maps of all the local trails, as well as descriptions of each hike.
We've used Chris Jones a few times for his water taxi service, and he's our go-to recommendation for getting out on the water for private whale watching, accessing remote hikes, or getting to our local hot springs (Goddard Hot Springs).
Book these guys for flight seeing tours around Baranof Island!
A must-go in Sitka. Don't skimp on getting salt for you and everyone you know. Our favorites are the alder smoked and vanilla salts. Also- check out Christina's books and all the other local art here!
This is Christina's gallery! Come here to see her books, as well as her friend's art. Everything in the gallery is created by Sitkan's, and it's a true co-op, so it's also owned and operated by all the artists.
Excellent local bookstore, with local celebrity, Peach the corgi.
Our go-to gallery for all things Alaskan and cool. Some of our favorite art is from this gallery.
