How We Met

who knew it be like this

Sean and Sophia matched on a christian dating app one early Monday morning. Sean messaged Sophia first and said that he really wanted to hear more about her passion for the Deaf community because of how she wrote about it in her bio. He was intrigued that such a pretty girl sounded so passionate about an educational field that was similar to his. Sophia and Sean continued to message back and forth every day until Sean asked Sophia to get ice cream with him in Old Town Pasadena for a real face-to-face date. She accepted.

Our First Date

The sweetest of meetings

Sophia was fashionably late to their afternoon date. Sean decided to take a walk around the block while he waited for her, trying to calm himself because he was SO nervous. As she walked up to Salt & Straw and saw that he wasn't there, Sophia tried to also shake her nerves before he walked to her. Sean finally turned the corner and saw this small curly haired cutie waiting in front of Salt & Straw. As Sean approached Sophia and greeted her, Sophia looked up and thought to herself "oof, I can see how cute he is even through his face mask!" (which made her even more nervous). They got their ice creams and walked to a near by bench. After they had been talking for about an hour, Sean asked if they wanted to take a walk while they talked. She said yes. They walked a few blocks and found Pasadena Memorial Park, where they found a park bench to sit and continued their conversation. Four hours passed and both were very much enjoying their time. Sean had plans so he had to go, but they both knew that if he had nothing to do that evening they could've stayed talking sitting at that park bench until the sun went down.

The Proposal

Right out of a movie

There they were, running late to a double date with two good friends from out of town. Sean was so stressed out because he had gotten tickets to watch a movie at El Capitan theater, but they were all running behind schedule. Sophia had drive like the fast and the furious for them but they were still late. Sophia was oblivious of the fact that Sean was stressed out because he was actually planning to propose that night, but if they were late to the theater they might miss the window for him to propose! Sophia kept saying "our seats are reserved, we don't need to rush!" But they all rushed anyways. They got into the theater and Sophia sat down in seat "B16". They got there just in time for the staff to announce that they would be giving out prizes that were related to the movie. They fished a number out of a box and called out "B16". Sophia went up to the front of the theater and hoped she would be winning a vinyl (since the movie was about music). They told her to close her eyes and that they would signal to open her yes. But then she was tapped on the shoulder and when she opened her eyes Sean was in front of her and said: "I love you so much and I knew the first time we talked that you were someone special. I didn't think I would ever fall in love, ever get married or anything like that. Will you do me the honor of marrying me?" And he pulled out a beautiful ring and got down on one knee. Everyone in the movie theater gasped and clapped (yes, a bunch of random people who were there to see a movie) .....And she said yes.
