Yes, we met online!

August 16, 2020

Like most people in this decade, Allie and Christian met on the dating app, Hinge, in the height of the pandemic. They hit it off while messaging and, despite Covid, decided to meet up in person. Christian asked Allie what her ideal date would be, and she said she always wanted to have a picnic at Piedmont Park on a beautiful, sunny day. They arrived separately at the park, and Allie was really impressed with Christian. He brought in the works: charcuterie, fruit, water, and mini bottles of wine to enjoy. They were enjoying their conversation when all of a sudden a man approaches them asking to take their photo for $20, because he was trying to build a portfolio as a professional photographer. Christian said sure, and the two had a mini photoshoot. In truth, the photos didn't turn out that great, but they became a nice memento over time. Hours had passed by in conversation, and the day was coming to an end. When Christian and Allie packed up and walked to their cars in a nearby garage, Christian noticed Allie was holding her wallet in the hand closest to him. "Do you have a pocket to keep that in?" Christian asked. "No, I usually just hold it like this," Allie replied. "Hold it with your other hand," Without thinking much about it, Allie switched the wallet in her other hand, and Christian interlaced his hand into hers without hesitation. Allie was swoon! Once they got to their cars saying their goodbyes, Christian gave Allie a quick kiss on the lips. And Allie was swoon once again (and immediately was hoping that she wasn't going to get Covid)! The two left, and Allie was feeling giddy, replaying the moments of the date in her head. She couldn't wait for the next one!

The Proposal

March 19, 2023

About a week before Allie's 25th birthday, Christian thought it would be nice to celebrate that day by having (yet another!) picnic at Piedmont Park. At first Allie wasn't so sure, because it was forecasted to be 40 degrees, but Christian insisted. March 19th came, and despite the chilly temperatures, the sun was out with hardly a cloud in the sky. Bundled with a blanket and starting with the meats and cheeses, Christian was getting sentimental. He toasted to their relationship, sipping on a mini bottle of Sangria, and told Allie that there was no other person he would rather spend his life with. Christian displayed the ring, and Allie couldn't have been more thrilled to say yes! The sentimental moments kept flowing as the couple began to envision their future together while celebrating the rest of Allie's birthday.
