How we meet

First comes school, work, than comes marriage

Curtis and I have been knowing each other since we were teenagers. We both attended the same high school and had mutual friends. We starting working together at The Old Spaghetti Factory in Downtown Nashville, and became really close friends. We both developed a little crush while working along side one another, but never serious enough for a relationship. Over the years we would cross paths with our significant others, so our timing was never right! Our paths crossed again at my cousins wedding reception and during our conversation, we both discovered we were single. That was all he needed to hear, the smile on his face was contagious. Curtis said I have been trying for 20 plus years to have you as my own, our time starts now! We officially started dating in April 2014 and have pretty much been inseparable ever since.

The Proposal

May 16, 2021

Curtis and I were on vacation for my birthday in Destin, FL at the Sandestin Resort on May 13 - 17, 2021. Once we got to our rented Condo, I started unpacking our luggage (like I normally do when we go on vacation). Curtis runs in the room and says baby I’ll unpack my own bags this time. I said ok with a strange look on my face, because this is something he likes me to do for him. Once we were done unpacking, we headed down to the beach. While on the beach we witnessed a beautiful wedding ceremony and I told him it would be nice to get married on the beach one day. On Sunday our last day of vacation we decided to relax for the day at the beach. Curtis asked a woman walking nearby to take a picture of us and gave her his phone. When I looked down to grab my sun glasses to block the sun, he was down on one knee and proposed on the beach! After I said YES!!! all I could hear was people screaming and clapping congratulations. This was such a beautiful unexpected proposal and I could not have been happier to say YES to my future husband on the beach ❤️
