Fort Lauderdale Airport (FLL) is the closest airport for those flying in and is a six-mile taxi ride to the Fort Lauderdale downtown area. There are plenty of hotels in the neighborhood of The Wilder and several hotels at the nearby Fort Lauderdale Beach if that's more your thing.
