Bride
Maddie is a seventh-generation Arizonan that grew up reading a lot of books, playing with her dogs, and spending time in research labs. Maddie went to college in Philadelphia at the University of Pennsylvania. The snowy weather wasn't really her thing, so she promptly came back to Phoenix after graduation. Her favorite thing to do is still reading, so not much has changed! Pictured: Maddie in Scotland on her whirlwind trip with her mom.
Groom
Alex is the oldest of three boys and an avid puzzle-solver. Alex is famous for his first first-place win in a chess tournament, when he was only 6 years old. Alex grew up in Phoenix and went to DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. His favorite color as a child was red. Matron of Honor
Lisa is Maddie's cousin and one of her best friends. One of Maddie's favorite memories with Lisa is from 2012, when she helped move her into her first college dorm room. Lisa was there, even though she had a knee injury herself, and her help made my move-in process fun, silly, and memorable. Pictured: Maddie and Lisa at Maddie's college graduation, 2016
Best Man
Luke is Alex's oldest younger brother (but not by much). Like Alex, he travelled to the midwest for college and plays chess competitively. In fact, last summer Luke tied for first place in his section at the National Open in Las Vegas. His favorite color as a child was blue. Pictured: Luke being reminded of his wasabi allergy
Bridesmaid
Maddie met Lauren when she went through sorority recruitment at Penn. One of Maddie's favorite memories with Lauren was when she and Jess visited her for a sleepover weekend in Washington D.C., where she was living at the time. They had a perfect sleepover - face masks, wine, and catching up all night long. Pictured: Maddie and Lauren in Washington D.C., 2014
Best Man
Max is Alex's youngest younger brother (but not by much). Like Alex, he majored in mathematics and appreciates quality video games. One summer, he hiked each of the "Seven Peaks of Phoenix" twice in a single day, which makes fourteen peaks. His favorite color as a child was green. Pictured: Maxwell debating whether his attire for the company's annual review meeting would be appropriate (answer: of course not)
Bridesmaid
Maddie met Jess at sorority recruitment and knew pretty much immediately that she'd found her future "little." Jess is funny, sassy, and full of joy. Maddie and Jess shared a bunch of Theatre Arts classes together and developed their love for Lavender Lattes while studying in Philadelphia coffee shops. Jess has an amazing singing voice and has been known to play guitar for duets with Lauren. Here's hoping we hear one at the wedding! Pictured: Maddie and Jess at Penn's Spring Fling, 2015
Groomsman
Matt was one of the first people Alex met at DePauw: by good fortune, he was a student leader of Alex's first-year mentor group. Matt was a major influence on Alex joining Phi Gamma Delta. In his time at DePauw, he was the fraternity president as well as Editor-in-Chief of the school paper. Pictured: Matt winning a bet that any color can be fashionably worn with the right Sperry's
Bridesmaid
Amber is Maddie's younger cousin. The two have had a bunch of adventures over the years - Alaska, Hawaii, Colorado! One of Maddie's favorite memories with Amber is when they spent a week at 4H horseback riding camp together. Amber recently moved to Dallas and Maddie misses her very much! Groomsman
Adam is one of Alex's close friends from high school. Many great moments were shared at Brophy, including our Kairos retreat, Hill Soccer, and that summer algebra class to name but a few. Adam went to Saint Louis University, close enough to DePauw to motivate an excitement-filled road trip back to school. Pictured: Adam practicing for the Brophy badminton tryouts
Bridesmaid
Maddie and Anna met in high school and have been friends since. In high school, Anna and Maddie were super silly and bonded over their mutual love of Science Olympiad, Harry Potter, and calculus (thanks, Ms. Moon!). Anna is an absolutely brilliant scientist and is currently at Carnegie Mellon as a PhD student studying materials science. Pictured: Maddie and Anna in San Francisco, 2010
Groomsman
Matt is Alex's pledge son and a fellow math major. (Fun fact: Alex's pledge family graduated five math majors in four years!) Alex got Matt through a tumultuous recruitment process and then a patella injury from intramural softball the following year. They were roommates in Alex's senior year and have remained close friends since. Pictured: Matt, still recovering from a broken ankle, kindly responding to his doctor when informed that he cannot play hockey or golf for another three months.
Flower Girl
Amelia is Lisa's oldest child and only daughter. Amelia is in first grade and loves playing soccer, swimming, and reading - especially Harry Potter! Amelia credits her ability to crawl at an early age to Madison’s brilliant idea of strapping her to a skateboard. Pictured: Maddie teaching Amelia how to take a selfie, 2015
Groomsman
Mike and Alex initially hung out through the friendship of their brothers Max and Max. Their own friendship quickly formed through their common interests/habits, which include mathematics, irregular sleeping patterns, board games, and more. He did not score a 2400 on the SAT. Pictured: Mike helping his pal Augustus live each day in the 21st century
Ring Bearer
Patrick is an avid Harry Potter fan, soccer player, and expert booty shaker. He can’t wait to eat the wedding cake! In his own words: “Patrick is silly and he loves soccer. He is in preschool, and he likes Madison. And that’s all.” Pictured: Patrick practicing for his future modeling career, because he is just that cute!
Ring Bearer
Gage is Alex's youngest first cousin. He lives in Phoenix, and Alex has been able to see him grow a lot in a short amount of time. For his age, he's quite an athlete (one nickname of his is "Ragin' Gage-un") and he loves playing sports. Pictured: Gage at a D-Backs game, but one can only speculate as to what he saw...
Sign Bearer
Jaxon is the eldest son of Maddie's cousin Ryan. Jaxon loves hockey, shooting Nerf guns, and can count to ten in Mandarin! Pictured: Jaxon getting a head start on practicing for his driver's license!

Cole is the youngest son of Maddie's cousin Ryan. He likes swimming, playing video games, and hanging out with his brother (Jaxon) and Uncle Paul. Pictured: Cole wearing his sunglasses inside the house. Must've been bright?
Ushers
Anna, Brenna, Faith, Georgia and MJ have taught us both a lot about basketball, and a lot about being teachers! Maddie taught these girls in her first year of teaching when they were in 10th grade, and has since gotten to know them a lot better as an assistant basketball coach. Alex met them even earlier, in his first year as a teacher, when they were in only sixth grade. Since then, he's also taught them in 8th grade and 12th grade math, and helped coach them in basketball.
