We've Met Before

Knowing Eachother Before Meeting Eachother

They say it is a small world, and trust us, we did not know how small it really was. When we 1st met each other, we didn't know how much history our Families had already. So Let us tell you have far back we go. It all started with Maurice's Mother and Auntie, and De Nesha's Oldest Aunt, on her Mother side, going to school together. Fast forward a little, the church that was started by Maurice's Grandmother, her children and others, used the church building where De Nesha grew up in, as a rented home for worship. He even remembers seeing De Nesha's Mother pregnant with her twin brothers. However, he does not remember seeing De Nesha. Growing up, De Nesha remembers Maurice's Auntie spoiling her, and giving her so much love every time they visited the church, or just when she saw her ( De Nesha was her Favorite). She even knew Maurice's cousins; but YET, they never knew each other existed. It took years (over 20) to know that the two of them use to play with each other at family events, and have been knowing each other their whole lives. Over the years, they even cross paths at church and even in certain clubs, and still, to this day, they do not remember seeing each other. Oh, Forgot to mention, Maurice's home church now, that use to rent out at De Nesha's home church, has moved over the years to the church where De Nesha's God Parents are the Pastor and Pastor's Wife. Crazy right? However, they only remember meeting once, Thanksgiving 2017, at the Thanksgiving service at his home church. This is where their lives changed for the better.

The Proposal

Thanksgiving Service 2018

The Proposal happened a Year from when we 1st met, Thanksgiving Service at church. After praying and Fasting on a date to propose to her, God gave me the OK, and it was on from there. As nervous as I was, I got through the process of asking her Father for her hand, as her Mother quickly stepped in and said " Yeah, take her"; her dad telling me "No", then laughing and said "Yes". I got through hiding the ring for months, but taking it out every chance I got, to look at the ring to be in awe of me getting married. I got through the process of getting her family to the church without it being noticeable that something was coming. I got through standing in the back of the line at church, as the Testimonies were being spoken from the front of the church. I got through walking behind her, being super nervous that she would suspect something, because her family and friends kept moving closer and closer in the church. I got though all of that, then it was my turn at the mic, to tell my Testimony. As I begin to tell my story, about how good God has been that year, I turned and looked at her; and called her every name that represented who she was to me (Spiritual Protector, Wombed-Man, Ish-a, My Queen). I got down on one knee, and asked her "Would you allow me to be your King?". She was stuck to the wall for a second, in shocked, but then she started walking towards me and said "YES!!!".
