Hunter and Jess’ story began long before either of them knew what their future would hold. Back in middle school, fate (and technology) stepped in during a simple FaceTime call between one of Jess’ friends and Hunter’s brother. One call led to another, and soon two young kiddos found themselves “dating” and even sharing their very first kiss. Through high school, they remained close friends. They went to games, practices, and competitions side by side—dancing together on the Dance Dynamix coed team, Jess cheering on the sidelines under the Friday night lights, Hunter down on the field in his jersey. They shared countless memories, laughter, and years of growing up together. In 2018, Hunter graduated and left for El Paso, Texas. Life took them in different directions, and distance slowly pulled them apart. But in 2020, during Jess’ senior year, their paths crossed again and they gave love another try. Even though they cared deeply for each other, long distance proved difficult, and they went their separate ways. Years passed—until 2023, when life (with perfect timing) brought them home to each other once more. Jess had moved to Pella, and as fate would have it, Hunter had returned and was working there too. After a few months of Hunter determinedly (and lovingly) winning Jess’ heart back, the spark returned—and this time, it felt like coming home. Today, Hunter and Jess live together with their sweet kitty, Roadie, building a beautiful life side by side and growing deeper in love every single day. And now, they can’t wait to begin forever—surrounded by the people they love most.
