It was a cold January evening, and Chelsea was binge watching Love is Blind. Inspired by one of the couples, she decided to check on Hinge and see if she had any new likes. This is where she first found Matt, waiting in her queue. For Matt, the connection began days earlier when he saw Chelsea's profile and liked how she checked the most important boxes: Christian, Liberal, and Tattoos. Appreciating the same things about Matt, Chelsea swiped right.
They nearly met the next night at a mutual friend's art show, but fate wasn't ready for that yet. Instead, they messaged on Hinge for months while Chelsea was in Florida staying with her mother. A two week trip turned into two months, but the dedication remained. Once safely back in Pennsylvania, they arranged for their first date at De Fer Coffee in the Strip District. It went well, with Chelsea telling her family "we'll probably hang out again."
"Probably" turned into inevitably, and weekly dates turned more regular as Chelsea and Matt spent more time together. Soon, like most couples in love, being apart became harder and harder. But still it wasn't official! Ahead of a weekend filled with meeting friends (specifically at Chris Cobern’s birthday karaoke) and family, Matt planned to ask Chelsea to be his girlfriend, but was derailed by an unfortunate dog poop incident. Chelsea, known for her complete lack of chill, texted him a few days later and asked if they should just make it official. He said yes (obviously). Important side note, karaoke was a blast, especially since Chelsea is highly regarded for her musical talent.
After Chelsea was laid off over the summer, the couple emerged stronger and even better at communicating. "I love yous" were exchanged and suddenly they were talking about their life together as if it was inevitable. Matt planned to propose to Chelsea by the end of the year, and did so while they took a trip to New York City in December. He planned it perfectly, understanding Chelsea's wishes and making it a special, personal moment. After musing about their relationship, Matt got down on one knee in Central Park, and after glitching for a few moments, Chelsea said yes (obviously).
