1:00 pm - 2:15 pm
Attire: Same as for wedding ceremony.
If you know Amy, then you've probably shared a cup of tea with her! In honor of the bride, the happy couple would like to treat all guests to a traditional afternoon tea experience in the European fashion. The tea will be held in the Oyster Bar Room at Galway's historical Hardiman Hotel. Come enjoy a cup of hot Earl Grey, delicious finger sandwiches, and fresh scones, so you're full and happy before the journey to the ceremony. After the tea, a shuttle will be awaiting guests outside The Hardiman for transport to the wedding site. Please note: guests are all encouraged to visit the restroom facilities before departure.
2:15 pm - 3:45 pm
A shuttle will be provided to take all guests to the wedding site location. The site is on private land and is located about an hour and a half away from Galway. During the ride, you will learn all about the sites and locations around you, as a tour guide will entertain you throughout the journey. Before arriving at the wedding ceremony site, the driver will stop at restroom facilities for all guests to use if needed.
4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
The groom and bride will be in formal attire, but everyone else is invited to dress warmly and comfortably.
The official wedding ceremony will be approximately a half hour. The two officiants are J. Barton Goplerud, Esq., who will perform the American portion of the ceremony, and Patrick Mangan, who will perform the traditional Irish handfasting ritual. Music will be provided by Richard Neylon of Ireland. Because of the location, it will be a standing ceremony. The wedding photographer will be taking individual or group photos of each guest (the choice of pose and group is yours). Please wear whatever you would like to wear in your portrait, including the colors of your choosing. The bride insists that even white is perfectly okay. Your comfort and happiness are paramount. The bride and groom will be sending your photograph directly to you to commemorate this event. Comfortable shoes and a sweater are recommended, as we will be on cliffs. Please note: There will be an emergency car at the wedding site to transport guests to restroom facilities if needed.
5:30 pm - 6:00 pm
After the wedding ceremony, guests will again load onto the shuttle. The driver and tour guide will transport everyone to the reception. The drive is about 20 minutes. Restroom facilities will be available at the reception pub location.
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
You had tea with Amy. Now enjoy a beer with Joe! In honor of the groom, the reception will be at the famous Gus O'Connor's Pub in Doolin. Enjoy live music, pub fare, delicious cake, and a traditional pint of Guinness as we raise our glasses to the bride and groom! https://gusoconnorsdoolin.com/ After the festivities, the shuttle will return all guests to Galway. The bride's sister, Cynthia, would like to point out that this means there will be a designated driver after the pub :) Cheers!
8:00 pm - 9:15 pm
For the last leg of the night, the shuttle will return all guests from the pub reception back to The Hardiman Hotel in Galway. The drive will be about one hour and fifteen minutes, and the tour guide will point out the night scenes along the way.
