Best Man
Ryan and I have been best friends since we met in Charleston in 2017. We quickly became inseparable and insufferable to anyone that wasn’t part of our very close friend group. We were roommates, co-babysitters and now we have both had the opportunity to be in each other’s weddings.
Maid of Honor
Lorraine has been my oldest friend. We met through church when we were five and have been best friends ever since. From our many sleepovers in my twin bed, several hour long phone calls about everything and nothing, and our 5am drives to Disneyland, we’ve been inseparable. I know I can always count on her to be there for me and tell me when I’m being dumb. She’s one of the strongest, most selfless, and loving people I’ve ever met. I’m proud to call her my maid of honor and a sister.
Groomsman
Dalton has literally known me my whole life. As my cousin he’s been a best friend and a bitter enemy, but once we both grew up we have become closer than when we had to share a bed while visiting our grandparents while growing up. We could both tell more stories to embarrass the other than either of us want known, so we’ll just shut up for once.
Maid of Honor
Oh miss Gaby. I first met this tall woman when we were five and her dad brought her into my grandparents bookstore. And I didn’t like her, not one bit. I was not about to share my Barbie’s with another. We met again when I started going to Kuyper in sixth grade and we slowly started becoming friends. It wasn’t until high school when we became best friends. This girl is quite literally my other half. People can hear the two of us night hyenas cackling from miles away. But I love this girl so much and the laughter, love, and kindness she brings to my life.
Groomswoman
Allie and I have also been best friends since we met in Charleston in 2017. Believe it or not my awful sense of humor actually started our friendship. Allie, Ryan and I were essentially inseparable for years while we all made it through Nuke school. We might not be as close to each other’s houses as we used to be, but our friendship is as strong as it was 7 years ago.
Bridesmaid
Elisabeth aka vanilla ice. Elisabeth and I met when we were just awkward wee seventh graders. And she’s been my ride or die ever since. She’s also managed to become the favorite grandchild in my family. She’s been such a constant in my life. Someone I know will always be there for me and support me. Her support, wisdom, and love are something I’ve always admired about her and couldn’t imagine a life without her.
Groomsman
I have known Chance since 2020 when we met on the ship. Chance is one of the kindest most genuine men I have met and also one of the most ruthless. We have spent more hours than either one of us care to count together drinking coffee, cracking stupid jokes, and sweating more than should be humanly possible. From standing around for watch conversations that covered all possible topics to standing in each other’s weddings, I’m proud to call him my friend.
Bridesmaid
My boo bear. I met Meghan back in college while we were both taking a Twilight er I mean Young Adult literature class. Our first conversation was in a zoom breakout room talking about bidets. We’ve been best friends ever since. From “working” at her place, spending to much money at the gem fair, driving around in my beloved car, Rashquisha, to taking her sweet dog Oliver on walks around downtown, she’s always a light and joy to be around. She is the funniest person I know with an absolute heart of gold and is such an incredible friend.
Groomsman
There are almost too many stories to tell about Nicholas, starting with the fact that I am the only one who calls him Nicholas other than his mother. We’ve been friends since the 6th grade track team and then all through high school on the swim team and an honestly worrying amount of hours playing Xbox. I don’t think there has been a time in the last 15 years that Nick and I haven’t been friends. I have gotten him into more trouble over the years, but that’s how he met his wife so it couldn’t have been that bad, right?
Bridesmaid
I met Melyssa through Elisabeth at a sleepover years ago. I had heard so much about this friend of a friend but I had no idea I would become dear friends with her too. I remember Elisabeth saying she could hear Mel and I laughing non stop from the other room. And our friendship grew so much from that little sleepover. We’ve been through so many seasons of life together, spilled the tea more times than we ought, and had probably one of the most obscene trips to London anyone has ever heard of. But through it all, I’m so glad I have her and her love, humor, and energy in my life.
Groomsman
Andrew, the number of stories to not be told. We first met back in Charleston, but our friendship didn’t really start until I got to the ship and just happened to see him walking off one day. We quickly became best friends and then roommates. From arguing like an old married couple to too many concerts to planning the surprise for mine and Emily’s engagement, there hasn’t been much of any part of life we haven’t done together.
Bridesmaid
I met Leilani back in college when we took the same ASL class. I remember joining a texting group for the class and she seemed to be the only one stressing about that class as much as I was so I reached out to her. Soon, we started having study dates and campus hangouts. If it weren’t for her, I don’t know how I would have been sane enough to graduate. But it was so nice to have someone with me every step of the way and know I wasn’t alone. This girl has got to be one of the kindest, smartest, most loving people I have ever met. I’m so grateful to have her in my life and be with me on this special day.
Jr Groomsman
Jase is Emily’s nephew and even though we have only met once I am excited to be able to call him my nephew now too! He is an incredibly witty, smart, and energetic young man. His love and knowledge of baseball is unmatched and I’m excited for him to stand with me on this special day.
Jr Bridesmaid
Kaitlyn is my amazing, fabulous, smart, funny, loving niece. I was there when this fun ball of energy was born and have been blessed to watch her grow up into a beautiful, kind young lady. She loves her chickens (and animals in general), crafts, and is probably the best baker I’ve ever met. I can’t wait to dance the night away with my favorite girl.
