A year ago, we embarked on the adventure of a lifetime with a cross-country move. It was our first time living together and calling the West Coast home. Over the past year we’ve fallen in love with the Bay Area, spending weekends exploring, hitting the beach (Kennedy) and surfing (Matt). When we imagined gathering our closest friends and family, we knew we wanted to share one of our favorite places with you. We know it’s a trek for many, and we’re thrilled to show you a place that has become so special to us.
Northern California weather can be unpredictable during the summer. Santa Cruz can be very sunny and warm in June, but it can also get windy and chilly in the evening. We will have large space heaters on hand for the outdoor wedding ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner, but we highly recommend packing jackets or shawls just in case. We will move indoors for dancing as the night progresses.
We know it's tempting to pull out light colored linens for a California wedding! We ask that you save the coastal attire for Welcome Drinks the night before and stick to formal (dark suits or tuxedos, tea-length or longer dresses) for the wedding ceremony and reception. For guests wearing heels, please note the ceremony will be held on grass. See the 'schedule' tab for dress code details for each event.
Parking is available at the Hollins House (including overnight parking if needed). Rideshare apps (Uber/Lyft) can also be called to pick up and drop off at the venue. A shuttle is available for all guests from the reception to the afterparty, and available between the hotel and ceremony site for guests staying at the Four Points Sheraton Santa Cruz - Scott's Valley. Please see the 'travel' tab for more details.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to us with any other questions you might have. Matt: (757) 814-1295 Kennedy: (703) 346-3016
