FAQs

Question

I'm traveling internationally. What is the best way to get to Galway?

Answer

For guests traveling internationally, we suggest flying into Dublin Airport. Frequent bus services are available directly from the airport to Galway city (2.5hr duration, see www.citylink.ie). Rental car services are also available at the airport. Please remember that in Ireland, you need to drive on the left side of the road! ;)

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

Our reception will take place at the Ardilaun Hotel which is located in Taylor's Hill, a residential neighbourhood in Galway city. Guests can choose to stay at the hotel, or at any nearby hotel/B&B/airbnb. For guests without a car, we would recommend choosing a place in either the city centre or in Salthill, where you will have easy access to public transportation and taxis.

Question

Do I need a rental car?

Answer

You can easily explore Galway city and some of the surrounding areas by a combination of public transport and/or bus tours (e.g. Cliffs of Moher, Aran Islands). There are regular bus/train services between Galway and other major cities in Ireland (e.g. Dublin, Cork, Limerick). If you would like to travel further afield or explore the countryside, we would recommend renting a car from the airport.

Question

Is there parking available at the church?

Answer

Yes, there is limited parking at the church and plenty of on-street parking nearby. Please note that street parking is subject to pay-and-display fees.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotel to the ceremony?

Answer

The church is located 5-10mins driving distance from the hotel. We would recommend taking a taxi or carpooling with other guests. The hotel reception can assist with taxis if needed.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes, please include details about any food allergies in your RSVP so we can inform the venue directly.

Question

Will there be a party in the USA?

Answer

Yes! We understand that not all our American guests will be able to make the trip across the pond. We do plan to have a small celebration in Connecticut at the end of 2024 -- details to come!
