FAQs

Question

When and how do I RSVP?

Answer

You will receive a formal invitation in the mail as the date approaches. We ask that you RSVP on our website after you receive the invitation by August 18th, 2025.

Question

What is the dress code for your wedding?

Answer

Our dress code is cocktail wedding attire. We suggest men wear a suit or dress shirt with a tie and women wear a midi- or knee-length dress or dressy separates.

Question

What are the addresses of the wedding ceremony and reception venues?

Answer

All wedding activities will take place on the property of YMCA of the Rockies Estes Park. The ceremony will take place at Overlook Chapel. Due to limited parking space, a shuttle will be provided to transport guests to Overlook Chapel and down to the tented reception area behind the YMCA Administration building/ next to Lewis Dick Hall. We will provide more information about the shuttle pick-up location and times in the months to come!

Question

Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will take place at an outdoor chapel overlooking the mountains. While the sun keeps things warm, Colorado falls can be unpredictable. Please dress accordingly! The wedding reception will be in a heated, outdoor tent. Guests will walk upon a dirt surface to get to their seats. For that reason, stiletto or otherwise-thin heels are not recommended.

Question

What is the weather and climate like in the area?

Answer

October days in Estes Park are often warm during the day (high 50s/lows 60s) and cool at night (dropping to the 30s), so we recommend a light wrap to cover bare shoulders or jacket for the outdoor ceremony. We will provide heat in the tented reception to ensure all of our guests are comfortable :) High altitude warning: Estes Park sits at 7,522 feet above sea level. We encourage all of our guests to hydrate well and be cautious when consuming alcohol We will provide electrolytes for our guests to add to their water.

Question

Is there parking available near your wedding venue(s)?

Answer

We highly encourage our guests to use the shuttle service we will provide to Overlook Chapel. You may also hike to the chapel. Please note it is about a 1.5 mile walk with a little over 500 ft. of elevation gain to get from the main area to Overlook Chapel. Guests are able to park their vehicles in the parking lot adjacent to Lewis Dick Hall for the cocktail hour and reception.

Question

Am I allowed to bring a plus-one?

Answer

We are not allowing additional plus-ones to our wedding, as we'd like to keep the guest list just to those who know us well. The name of every guest invited to attend is clearly listed on your save-the-date and no additional guests can be accommodated.

Question

Can we bring our kids?

Answer

We love kids! However due to the space constraints at the ceremony site, reception area, and farewell breakfast we cannot have kids at these events. The YMCA is a great place to bring the family! Kids are welcome at all other weekend events. We are looking into providing childcare during the ceremony and reception so that you may thoroughly enjoy the festivities! Please text the bride or groom if you are interested in learning more about this!
