The Invisible String Theory: “The universe will keep two people apart until the timing is right. When you meet there will be so many 'coincidences' in the timing. If one thing would have fallen out of line you would never have crossed paths. But the universe aligns and you will realize that everything that you went through before you met, was just preparing your heart for them.” And Kristen and Nick’s meeting was just that. Nick was Kristen’s sister’s (Emily) supervisor at UTEP, at the time her sister was finishing her bachelors degree and Nick was finishing his Masters program both in Kinesiology. Emily had a feeling Kristen and Nick would get along well together. Nick was a goofball always quoting “Seinfeld” during class and playing Misery Business by Paramore during labs and Kristen was dorky, telling pun jokes to anyone who would listen and dragging everyone to Emo Nite every Wednesday. A year passes after Emily mentions Nick to Kristen but they were both in different places in their life at the time. Nick was in a relationship and Kristen was dating other people. However, during that year Kristen and Nick were always in the same places at the same time but never met. First at Speaking Rock for a Midland concert, then at a Chihuahuas baseball game and finally at Elev8 gym. They followed each other on Instagram where Kristen messaged Nick with a cheesy pick up line of course, after noticing him “liking” all her posts. They planned to meet for their first date at a local dive bar called Love Buzz for Emo Nite where they talked and sang their favorite songs, and stayed out until 4 am and the rest was history! Christmas being Kristen and Nick’s favorite time of the year, Nick decided to propose in downtown El Paso where it was decorated full of lights and holiday cheer in front of their friends and family on December 6th, 2024.
