an unexpected romance

We met through old friends. It was one of those, girl sees guy across the room, guy doesn't realize girl is hitting on him, girl then proceeds to make it very obvious that she is hitting on him, guy kisses girl.

A bonfire, some drinks, and a kiss.

Crystalyn and Andrew had been seeing one another for a few months, unofficially. On this day, Andrew had invited her to come to a family winter camp out that was held on a plot of land on a family members property. His family would take their christmas trees there to build a bonfire, cook foil packs (filled with meat and potato goodness), have some drinks, and sleep in tents. Yes, it was freezing. The warmth of the giant bonfire was amazing. Andrew had already had a few drinks and Crystalyn was sober and frightened to ask him what she was thinking about asking him. The night was almost over and she built up the courage and said, "I don't think I want to be friends anymore." Andrew says, "oh, yea? you wanna be my girlfriend?". And that's how it happened folks. Queue sappy kiss.

A Happy Birthday

It was Crystalyn's 33rd birthday night. She has just finished working late and came home tired. Of course, she was sniffly from receiving the gift of sickness form her 9 month old. The night was almost at an end and she welcomed her bed. That is where Andrew had her waiting as he walked in with a cookie tray with two small bundt cakes with candles. They were delicious! No, she did not blow on them to make a wish. LOL. Andrew then said that the baby had a present for her and she closed her eyes. Upon being prompted to open them, Andrew presented a stunning red jewelry box, opened it, and popped the question. Sick, tired, and stuffed with cake... she said yes!
