South Congress Avenue
If shopping is your thing, South Congress is your spot! They have tons of funky shops, local boutiques, and higher end shopping. Catch a live show at The Continental Club while you're there, get some icecream at Amy's, and take a photo at the "I Love You So Much" mural.
Rainey Street Historic District
Rainey street is a fun area you must go to while in town! It is full of bars that were converted from old bungalow-style homes. This is a fun area to hang out in during the day or at night!
"Dirty Sixth Street"
Sixth street in Austin is a stretch of bars located on 6th street between Congress Ave. & Interstate 35. The streets are closed off to traffic during the weekend and so it gets pretty rowdy at night. Great place to check out if it's your first time in Austin!
Texas Capitol
Everything's bigger in Texas including the state capitol! The Texas State Capitol is the largest state capitol in the country! They do several tours throughout the day & the grounds are very beautiful to just walk through.
Bullock Texas State History Museum
Great place to learn more about Texas History!
Mount Bonnell
This is one of our favorites views in Austin! Just a short distance from downtown will bring you to the highest points in Austin, TX at 781ft.
Barton Creek Greenbelt
If hiking is your thing, you're going to love the Barton Creek Greenbelt! This is a 7.25 mile long area with tons of different hiking trails and swimming holes with many entry points.
Barton Springs Municipal Pool
If weather is hot enough recommend spending some time here! This iconic Austin spot is a natural spring pool with water at a constant 68 degrees!
Broken Spoke
This iconic honky-tonk has been around for 50+ years long before Austin's peak development and had legendary artists play here like Willie Nelson, George Strait, Alvin Crow, The Dixie Chicks, Bob Wills, Ernest Tubb, Tex Ritter and Ray Price! Definitely put this on your list if you want to get a taste of some two-stepping. Please note, there normally is a cover charge to enter the dancehall portion.
Veracruz All Natural
While in Austin, you cannot leave here without having some breakfast tacos! This is our favorite :)
