Our story began in May 2015. The first night I moved to California, a mutual friend of ours invited Scott and a couple others to our new apartment. Shortly after, Scott took it upon himself to befriend me and took me out on all kinds of adventures. He took me to LA for the first time, showed me some amazing restaurants, and we became great friends. We started spending all our time together and after 4 months I decided to ask him out myself. We became an official couple on September 17th and we have been together ever since.
It was March 18, 2019 (Scott’s birthday) and we woke up in our small, adorable hotel room in Florence, Italy. We had a whole day planned to celebrate Scott turning another year older. It started out as a rainy day and we were rushing with our umbrellas through the streets of Florence to get to our bus that would take us to the Chianti region of Tuscany. Our visit of Tuscany included two family-owned wineries. We were given “samples” of wine (more like full-glasses of goodness) to try at each place as well as their own home-grown olive oil from their olive groves. All was amazing! We enjoyed each other’s company and bought our friends and families souvenirs and then got back on the bus to head back to town. Once we were back we grabbed a bite at the local market and enjoyed some shopping. We shopped and shopped until it was almost dinner time. So, we headed back to our room to freshen up before going to take some photos at the Piazzale Michelangelo. When we arrived, we setup the camera and Scott had other intentions than just enjoying the sunset. He had set the camera up to record as video and then joined me by the lookout point that showcased the entire city of Florence below. He then whispered in my ear how amazing the day had been and went on and on about all the great things he had gotten for his birthday. Then he said, “You know the one thing i didn’t get for my birthday?”. Then suddenly, he reached into his jacket pocket, got down on one knee, pulled out a tiny box and showed me a gorgeous diamond ring. I stood there in shock at first and asked “So, what are you saying” with a giant grin on my face and he replied with “Will You Marry Me?” I immediately said YES and couldn’t believe what was happening. Afterwards, we took some more photos before heading to our dinner reservations where we celebrated with more Chianti and a Florentine Steak. It was the most romantic night of my life and I am so happy to be marrying my best friend!
