Rashad and I initally met at TGI Friday’s for dinner with mutual friends. When I walked in, I was introduced to him but didnt think very much of it past that. Dinner was great and we had laughs but I would not meet him again until he came to my apartment to pick up my best friend Grace to attend a Grizzlies game. While he was waiting on her to get dressed, because you know a woman is never ready, I joked about how I also wanted to go to a Grizzlies game! Let him tell it by this time he knew he wanted to have me as his own. Not a month later, he told my best friend Grace that he wanted to take me to a Grizzlies game. I declined initially due to just getting out of a long relationship but they persisted! So I gave in! OUR FIRST DATE! He was such a gentleman. *blushes* He picked me up, opened EVERY DOOR for me and...wait for it...HE GOT US COURTSIDE SEATS! This date should have been perfect and we would fall in love and that should be the end right!? NO! We are talking about me here LOL I felt awkward and I did not think that I was ready to start dating yet! If anyone knows my fiance then you know he is persistent and will never give up. For a whole year, this man showed me in every way how he could love me, love my daughter and be there for me through a very rough time in my life. I prayed day in and day out for God to show me that this was the man for me and each time God proved to me how great of a man he was! After a year of dating, I finally conveyed to Rashad that I was ready to be in a relationship but by this time he had asked me twice to be his girlfriend and I had said no. *eeek* As we were running on the pedestrian bridge one day, we stopped to look at the view and I noticed that there were new locks that people had placed on there. I would normally read these locks because they were so cute but this time I found the best one! This lock read "Crystal, will you be my girlfriend, Rashad? 11.27.17 💚
