We met at Nelnet! We both joined a new department as Supervisors in late 2018/early 2019 and closely worked together while helping management build out the new department. Crystal came up with most of the ideas and strategy to implement improvements and Joey was amazing at helping with the technical side of the house. We started chatting more personally beginning May 5th, 2019, when Crystal was getting ready to travel to Wisconsin with our manager. Our date was 6 days later at The Mill in the Lincoln Haymarket. We have not gone a day without talking or seeing each other ever since.
Joey organized an overnight trip in a South Sioux City treehouse. Crystal was suspicious a proposal was likely going to happen and ruined Joey's surprise. As we were getting ready to leave the house, Joey HAD to take a selfie together with the Instax camera (a mini polaroid-like instant camera) and asked Crystal to put the picture in the photo album. When the photo album was opened, Crystal saw the picture of a BEAUTFIUL Emerald engagement ring and Joey was down on one knee. Of course, she said "Yes!" and we headed North to South Sioux City. p.s. We still have an un-opened bottle of wine that Joey bought for the occasion.
