We met on November 1, 2019, on the morning of Jake and Rebecca Sinn’s wedding rehearsal. Crystal was a bridesmaid, and Ean was a groomsman – and both came to the wedding without plus ones or any intentions of meeting anyone. Fate had other plans for us, however. We found ourselves next to each other quite often on the night of the rehearsal and the wedding, flirting and dancing. But weddings are short, and the morning after the wedding, Crystal went back to California and Ean went back to Winona. Common sense says that starting a relationship with 2,042 miles in between a couple isn’t a good idea, but we didn’t listen to common sense. With the help of technology, we were able to communicate over Facebook Messenger, texting, phone calls, and FaceTime. Crystal came up with the idea to have wine nights together over FaceTime, so we would both find the same bottle of wine to drink together from afar. Only twelve days after meeting each other, Ean booked a trip out to California to visit Crystal. We agreed that if the weekend went well, we would continue pursuing our relationship. *Obviously, the weekend went well, or you wouldn’t be reading this on our wedding website! * We were able to have four more weekends together before the pandemic started, and then fearing that our time together was in jeopardy, Crystal drove from California to Winona. We thought Crystal would stay a few weeks until the pandemic calmed – but that never happened, so Crystal never went back to California, and now we are living together in Elkhart Lake, WI!
