Our Story

Our story began during a season neither of us expected. While Crystal was recovering from back surgery and spending a lot of time resting at home, she joined a few Facebook groups for singles. One day, Chad noticed her posts. Even though he says he “doesn’t normally do this,” something about Crystal stood out. He reached out, telling her she seemed like a genuinely great person and that he would love to get to know her better. That simple message changed everything. We went on our first date in April 2023, and the connection was immediate. Conversation came easily, laughter followed quickly, and it didn’t take long to realize how comfortable we felt together. We shared the same values, similar outlooks on life, and a sense that this was something special. When Crystal introduced Chad to her family, they welcomed him right away—something that meant more than words can say. At the time, Crystal’s daughter, Carli, was serving a mission. Crystal was honest from the very beginning—her daughter is her whole world, and it mattered deeply that Chad and Carli would get along. When Carli returned home, that hope was instantly fulfilled. They clicked right away, and Crystal couldn’t help but notice how similar they are. From their personalities to the way they think and talk, it felt like Chad had always belonged in the family. Chad also brought something incredibly special into Crystal’s life—his daughters. From the start, it was clear how much he loves them and how important family is to him. Watching their relationships grow and blend together so naturally confirmed what both of us already felt: this wasn’t just about two people falling in love, but about two families becoming one. When it came time to plan the proposal, Chad knew one thing for sure—he wanted it to be special. Unsure exactly how to do that, he turned to Carli for help. Together, they came up with a plan while we were on a trip to Niagara Falls. While exploring Canada, we spotted a Ferris wheel and thought it would be the perfect place for a picture. Crystal didn’t want to go at first, but with a little convincing, she agreed. Up in the Ferris wheel, surrounded by beautiful views, the moment felt just right. Chad got down on one knee. Crystal turned around, completely surprised and trying to process what was happening—until it finally clicked. Through happy tears, she said yes. We kissed, laughed, and shared a moment we will never forget. What started as a simple message turned into a love story shaped by patience, family, and perfect timing—and we are so grateful for the journey that brought us together.
