It all started in Spanish 2, freshman year of high school. I was nervous and knew no one except for one friend who had been moved into the class with me. As we stood outside waiting for the teacher to open the door, I made my friend go in first — I was way too shy. But when I finally walked into the room, our eyes locked, and I swear, in that moment, I just knew we were meant to meet. Fast forward a bit, and we were finally paired up for a group project. I was so excited to talk to him, but in my nervousness, I didn't realize I was standing in his way. He walked up to me, and the first thing he said was, "Move." (He swears it wasn’t meant to be mean, just competitive!) Despite that memorable first exchange, we became fast friends, and the rest, as they say, is history. Eight years later, here we are, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the chance encounter that started it all.
The day started off like any other regular date. Crystal and I planned to go to a tea place that she had wanted to go to for quite a while. The dress was a little formal for this tea place, which was perfect for my plans for later that day... Crystal absolutely loved the tea place and the date went great. After the tea place, I told her that we should go and have a picnic at a park where we had our very first picnic. This is where the nerves started to settle in a little bit after remaining pretty calm and cool for the entire day. I knew the time was getting closer and closer by the minute, I grew nervous but very excited. We went to go and get some food for the "picnic" and finally headed to the park. As we approached the park my heart felt as if it was beating out of my chest. Crystal initially suggested a spot to have the picnic but I had an arch (as seen in the photos) that I had built that my brothers took to the park so I had to redirect us to the arch so that I could propose. There were some other people there taking photos as well, Crystal assumed it was there's and told me to back away. I laughed it off, motioned her towards me, and let her know that it was not theirs but in fact, it was for us. I got on one knee and Crystal was in pure disbelief. I could see joy, excitement, and love in her eyes as soon as I got down on one knee. It was a special moment that I will cherish forever. The pictures truly don't do justice to how special that day was but I hope that they give you just a glimpse of how special that day truly was. I am excited to see what God has in store for the rest of our lives as we wholeheartedly trust in Him and are extremely excited to share moments like these with the people we love!
