We met junior year of high school in English class. I noticed this cute new boy wearing a Colorado Avalanche hoodie. He also joined the hockey team that I was the manager of (sorry coach). Between school and hockey, we were spending so much time together that we of course started talking. We became instant friends then eventually started dating 8 months later :)

We were on Vacation in San Pedro, Belize in August of 2024. We were there with Austin's sister, nephew, and his sister's best friend. It was supposed to be a family trip with his family, but unfortunately months before, his grandma broke her foot. The day before the proposal, we were all at a beach bar having lunch. Austin stepped away to go set up an snorkeling trip for us. While he was away, the bar tender asked us how long we had been married. I told him we were just dating and proceeded to ask when was he going to propose. I joked around and said "Well we are in Belize!" Little did I know haha We had a hotel right on the beach, so he was waiting for the prefect day to take me down to the shore and propose at sunset. The day finally came and we made plans as a group to go down and take pictures on the beach. We were getting close to missing sunset waiting for his sister to finish getting ready (love you haha) but we made it down just in time. We started taking some normal couple photos, then they suggested I go out and they will get some of just me. As I have my back turned and I am looking out at the ocean, Austin come up and hugs me and gives this lovely speech and then drops down on one knee and asks me to marry him 💕
