We were both working a busy ER shift at Beaumont Hospital, where Aham was a second-year medical resident and Crystal was just finishing her Nursing degree. A casual bump during a chaotic time in the hospital soon turned into a friendship. Eventually, Aham asked Crystal on a date. Not an easy task for us two busy birds. But Crystal could not resist, and Aham was not taking no for an answer! The first date was on! Aham showed off his cooking skills by breaking out with his famous salmon. “It was good,” Crystal exclaimed! Dinner was followed by a comedy show, with the night ending with fireworks that were previewed from the back of Aham’s Jeep. Crystal went home that night and immediately thought, “This man will be my husband.” Seven years later, we have been inseparable.
Aham invited several of our close friends to the house and planned everything. Aham started the night with an announcement of Congrats for Crystal's recent graduation from Anesthesia school, and then out of nowhere, Aham got down on one knee! He was holding a small blue Tiffany box, and Crystal was lost for words. She didn't see it coming at all! He then asked Crystal to marry him as he tried to hold back tears. Crystal immediately said "yes," and they celebrated with their friends for the rest of the night.
Crystal and Aham are originally from Michigan and moved down to Atlanta in 2016. They have been inseperable for seven years. Crystal is the eldest of her siblings and Aham is the 3rd and first son of his siblings. Ahamefula is from Benin City, Nigeria and the reason that he is called "Naija boy." Crystal recieved her Doctorate in Nurse Anesthesia from Emory University. Ahamefula recieved his Doctorate in Medicine from Morehouse College. They both share a love for traveling, hanging out with family and friends, and being parents to baby Ahamefula III.
