It all started in 2009 in Spanish class. Matt was a junior and I was a sophmore. He spoke fluent spanish and I spoke none. Yet here I was in a spanish class trying to earn that highschool credit. Matt sat behind me in class and was often tired due to basketball period so I kindly would ask him if i could see his paper for help and he was more than happy to help me. Matt then tested out of spanish class and moved on. While I stayed and somehow passed. It was then a few months later Matt messaged me on facebook to say hi, and thats where the first conversation sparked. Not even a few months later I asked him to our sadie hawkins dance by decorating his truck. Matt and I went to the the dance that night and laughed the night away as friends and at midnight on Friday February the 13th he walked me to my doorstep and asked me to be his girlfriend in which then turned into February 14th. Twelve years later Matt and I have created endless memories and we cant wait to embark on this new journey as husband and wife.
Matt proposed to Danielle after being together for 12 years at the beautiful Centennial Gardens in Houston Tx on December 20th, 2020. Matt convinced a photgrapher who took their 10 year anniversary pictures to tell Danielle that she was doing a free couples session. Therefore the photographer texted Danielle a few months before the engagement that she was doing a free session and asked Matt and Danielle to be her models. Danielle was a little skeptical at first because she never does free photo shoots and she even had to cancel once due to weather but then thought nothing of it. The afternoon of the engagement, Matt asked Danielle to go to an early dinner before pictures. So they went to grab dinner at Escalantes. They then finished dinner and headed to Centennial Gardens. Matt and Danielle then met up with the photgrapher and started walking towards the gate where they were going to take pictures but the security guard told them that no professional cameras were allowed in the park that day in which this was NOT planned. We then started walking towards the side of the park and there was a gate cracked open. The photographer then lifted the gate we had to quickly sneak into the park while she hid her camera and we walked as quickly as we could to the back of the park. Matt and Danielle then came to a private garden to take a few last pictures and they got stopped by a gentlemen. The photographer then had to do some convincing because this too was not planned. Once they got the okay Matt told Danielle look at this, Danielle walked into the open greenary garden and to the left was a sign and beautful floral stand with a bunch of candles lit up. Matt then took Danielle by the hand to the floral stand and started saying words that Danielle could not remember because she was genuinley shocked. Their favorite song started playing and her family, Matts family and close friends came out. Thats then when Matt got down on his knee and asked her to Marry him.
