Nancy and Aj met the modern way: by sliding into DM’s (“cute pup”) in 2020. Aj’s hair volume caught Nancy’s eye…and if you know Nancy, she’s loves a good hairstyle. Although a global pandemic was occurring at the moment, that didn’t interfere with them meeting in person. They shared laughs, stories & information about each other’s interest over a fine dinner of chipotle. One date turned into consecutive interactions that both, could not understand why they were so intrigued with each other. “Love is a big word huh?” Aj said to Nancy as she covered her face feeling smitten.

Aj asked Nancy’s sister’s + mother for her hand in marriage, but Alicia requested one thing. “You wait for me to be there Aj. You don’t anything without me there.”, she said in a firm tone while in Texas. Full of nerves, being anxious and excitement… Aj reached out to Sonya (Nancy’s sister) for help in coordinating a surprise engagement at Nancy’s childhood home. With Sonya’s creative skills, she awed the guests and of course her sister with the presentation. Nancy was strategically positioned right under a guava tree. A tree that her father had planted many years ago and as a young child Nancy played on that tree everyday.
