FAQs

Question

Are children allowed?

Answer

All events related to the wedding are adults only. Please make the necessary accommodations to leave your little ones behind.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code for the evening is black tie. Break out those floor length gowns and tuxes. Block heels are recommended for anyone planning to wear heels since part of the evening will take place on the lawn. Please steer clear of white, ivory, off-white, eggshell, beige, champagne, cream, blushes, or any other super light color that could be mistaken for white. Here's a great black-tie explainer: https://www.brides.com/story/black-tie-wedding-guest-dress-code-long-gowns

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We are so grateful for your presence as we celebrate our marriage. If you find yourself in a giving spirit, we are requesting gifts as financial contributions towards our honeymoon and moving funds. Venmo: @jfoxy & @cruzvs Zelle: 910-489-3048 & 201-253-7511

Question

Will the wedding be indoor or outdoor?

Answer

The wedding will be both outside and inside. We'll start in the garden for the ceremony and use the lawn for cocktail hour and dinner. Then get ready to dance all night inside Kirby Horton Hall.

Question

What time should I arrive for the event?

Answer

Guests can start arriving at 5:30pm. The lawn will be open and refreshments will be available. Please plan to arrive before 5:50pm as the ceremony will start promptly at 6pm.

Question

How do I get to Duke Gardens for the wedding?

Answer

If you are staying in a hotel block, we will coordinate shuttle service to bring you to and from the wedding. Otherwise, Ubers/Lyfts/Taxis are plentiful in the area. Be sure to book the cab ahead of time since it will be Duke Alumni Weekend and there is a film festival in town.

Question

Where should I stay for the weekend?

Answer

We have a list of accommodations on the "Travel" page for our guests April 14-16, 2023. We were able to secure a few blocks for our guests. We recommend staying downtown so you can experience all that downtown Durham has to offer, but you can stay anywhere you'd like around town.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

March 14th, 2023

Question

When should I book my room in the hotel blocks?

Answer

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Due to venue capacity, we cannot accommodate dates for all guests.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes, you will be able to flag any dietary restrictions when you RSVP.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, we have reserved the parking lot next to the venue for our guests for the evening. Guests are advised not to leave their cars overnight in the parking lot as ticketing begins at 8am the next morning.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?
