Hey, Ricky here to tell our wonderful cheesy story! Well, let's go to the beginning. We didn't know each other, but apparently we had crossed paths, been to some of the same places. But for years, we had no idea the other existed. We were going on our merry ways through life, Vanessa was living her life in Connecticut, doing college and working and I was out in Pittsburgh trying to figure out what I was going to do with my life. Then enter our dear friend, Katie Barber, who has been friends with Ricky since early 2015 and has known Vanessa since high school. Katie and Ricky talked a decent amount and Katie knew about Rickys troubles with relationships and she had known about about Vanessas relationships as well and something lit up in her and she just knew that the two of them would be perfect for each other, so she set her plan in motion. She sent each of us a picture of the other and then told each of us separately that the other thought they were cute. So Ricky got the idea on the evening of June 10th, 2022 to send Vanessa a message on Instagram (yes, I slid into her DMs lol) and it was set. We talked day and night on there for about a week or so, until I got up the courage to ask her for her number and she decided to throw at me "Do you have an Iphone?" because she didn't want to have those "green message bubbles" lol and of course I did, so all was good there. So then we texted for a few more days and then it turned into phone calls on our way home from work. Then we had our first date, on my mothers birthday of all things, July 16th. We met halfway (kind of) we met in East Stroudsburg, which was a 2.5hr drive for her and a whooping 5hr drive for me, but I had everything planned. She had a habit of taking forever to get ready and being late to things, so I told her I would be there an hour before I was actually going to be there so that she would be ready by the time I would be there, well, turns out for a first date she can actually be ready and on time, so she was actually there waiting for me for an hour (whoops!) but the date was amazing regardless! First I took her for lunch at her favorite place, Chick-Fil-A, and then we drove up the Pocono Mountains and ate lunch on the bed of my truck while talking for about 3 or so hours in the sun (Vanessa got sunburnt.. Again, whoops!) but then we went and played a card game called "we're not really strangers" and it really had us digging deep to get to know each other on a deeper level. Then came for the big finale of the big extravagant first date, I took her to dinner at Texas Roudhouse, which has become one of our favorites as a couple, then we went out and got snacks and drinks and took it to a drive in movie and saw the movie "Thor; Love and Thunder" and the movie ended and we ended up staying at the drive in through the entire second feature, but we didn't watch it, we sat there and talked for 2.5hrs! Then on the way back to where she was staying at around 1AM as we were both tired and exhausted from the day, I pulled into a Khols parking lot, put the truck in park, rolled all of the windows down, turned the radio up and we got out and slow danced in the headlights for about a half an hour. After that night, I knew, I knew she was the one, but it was still way too soon to say anything, so I waited until late August until I told her I loved her for the first time and from then on out, we have been there for each other. She has helped me move twice and Ive helped her move, so now we are both in the Pocono area as she goes to school for her Masters in social work and I'm working in Manufacturing. We aim to end Vanessa's education era with a Graduation and Honeymoon in Italy. We both share our love together and with our little buddy, Dexter. We are both excited to continue to grow in our careers and grow as a couple and a future family. Excited to be in our engaged era and moving towards our married era. One. Day. At. A. Time. Forever & Ever & Always
