Our Story

His View

I still remember the first time I ever talked to Brooke. I had a crush on her from a distance since we were young and I was nervous to talk to her. The summer before our 8th grade year I decided it was time for me to finally make my move! I started talking to her a lot, and leading up to the school year we became best friends. We had our parents driving us everywhere so we could hang out. Through this time, I realized how much I loved everything about who Brooke was and how real it was even though we were young. We laughed together, prayed together, and were each other’s biggest fans. There was just something about Brooke that made her unlike anyone else I had ever met. I knew I had to ask her to be my girlfriend, I was just hoping she would say yes. April 6th, 2013 was the day I finally asked her and the day that led to the greatest days and years to follow. Throughout high school, our relationship just got better and stronger and my love for Brooke continued to grow. We graduated high school and went off to college and spent almost two years thousands of miles apart. Being away from her in that time made me realize how ready I was to marry her so I proposed to her in November 2018. I am so excited to marry my first love, my high school sweetheart and my best friend.

Our Story

Her View

When Connor came to my school in fifth grade, I had no idea how he would turn my life upside down in the coming years (in the best way). We were friends from the start but when middle school came around, I noticed that Connor was a little more interested than ever. He was finding his way to be around me and talk to me all of the time and I knew something was up. We began talking a lot and I remember being so surprised by how happy I felt when talking to him and being with him. I remember the day that I realized that I really liked Connor. He made me laugh more than anyone ever had, he was gentle and kind, he challenged me, and he was everything I ever dreamed of. Little did I know, Connor liked me a lot too! He finally asked me to be his girlfriend at the end of our eighth grade year and from that moment on, Connor and I were attached at the hip. I knew that I was going to marry him from the start. We went through high school together and when college came around, we ended up having a long distance relationship. After six years together and our time long distance, we knew we were ready to get married. He proposed in November 2018 and I said yes! I really can not wait to marry Connor Curry, my dream guy.

The Engagement

SURPRISE

During our time long distance, I was in Miami for an internship and Connor was in California for football. We only got to see each other on our breaks and we had been looking forward to seeing each other over our Thanksgiving break. When I booked my flight home to Shreveport, Connor broke the news to me that he would not be able to come home for break because of football obligations. And I believed him! Meanwhile, Connor and my family were scheming up the biggest surprise proposal for that week. I flew home for break and Connor still had me convinced that he was in California, but really he had flown home days before me! He went as far as going into random food places in Shreveport to FaceTime me one so that I would think that he was still in California. The first few days of break went by and then Tuesday came around and my mom told my family and I that we were going to take family pictures the next day like we do every Thanksgiving. Wednesday, November 21st, my family and I got all dressed up for pictures and went to the spot to go take them. We started taking pictures in front of this pretty set of double doors. As we finished up taking pictures, I noticed my brothers opening the two doors very dramatically and I turned around to see Connor and the cutest proposal set-up. And of course he had the rest of our family and friends there! I walked down to meet him and he proposed! It was the most special and perfectly thought out moment that Connor planned and it was a day I will never forget!
